You can get a long way on your own. A lab is shaped by a handful of questions about your school, worth thinking through first:
- How many computers, and what does the school already have?
- Will staff use it, or pupils too?
- A content server, the school platform, or both?
- Is there enough power?
- Who will keep it running?
- What can the school spend?
Nothing has to happen at once. KUBO is built to expand step by step, so you can start with a handful of seats and grow the lab as you go.

Computers (Raspberry Pi boards)
The board price shown is the current market price: it moves with the Raspberry Pi market. "Needed" defaults from the rules in each table but is editable. Enter what the school already has so you only buy the difference (To buy = Needed − Have).
KUBO X (× each computer)
KUBO X is what we add to each board to make it a classroom workstation: the molded casing and the flashed SD card. These prices are ours and stable.
Peripherals (× each computer)
Power supplies, cables, keyboards, mice and monitors can often be sourced locally or second-hand; enter what the school already has above.
KUBO server (one per lab)
The UPS (a Raspberry Pi UPS HAT, case and 2 batteries) is included with the server to keep it running through short power cuts. A WiFi access point and Ethernet cable (priced per metre) are optional, add them where the location needs networking. Prices are indicative and editable. A whole-school UPS or solar setup is beyond this planner's scope, plan those locally.
Furniture
Desks and chairs are usually sourced locally and vary a lot by country, so we may not supply them everywhere. These are indicative prices for budgeting only, set them to your local quote in the Prices tab.
Shared lab equipment
Extension cables default to ⌈computers ÷ 2⌉ for power. The projector (beamer + screen), a teacher laptop and a printer are optional, tick what you need.
Monthly running costs (recurring)
These repeat every month, the estimate shows them per month and folds 12 months into the first-year figure. The server runs on low-bandwidth cellular data, so internet stays cheap; raise it for broadband, or leave it off if the school already has a connection (out of scope).

Currency & VAT
Enter prices in the currency you pick. VAT is a Belgian setting, set it to 0 where it doesn't apply and the VAT breakdown and "incl. VAT" labels disappear.
Savings vs a traditional lab (rough estimate)
A like-for-like estimate against the same number of seats built from conventional desktop PCs with paid software, reusing your configured KUBO lab. It starts with the upfront difference. Turn on running costs over time to fold in software, energy and maintenance over several years. Every figure is an editable estimate, not a promise.
